One Bread, One Body
"The Church that Smiles."
The running of a parish in the 21st century is a complex administrative and financial task. Recognizing the complexities and need for expert advice, the finance committee of St. Mary of the Pines meets to review the budget and finances of the parish.
Members of this committee are appointed by the pastor. Nominees must be registered members of the parish, with a zeal for the apostate of the church, be skilled in financial matters, civil law, or management, and be of outstanding character. Members are appointed for a 5-year term, however, by appointment may be renewed for another 5-year term. The Finance Council has only 5 members and 2 are appointed Lay Trustees of the parish Civil Corporation, and the Pastor serves as a non-voting member.
Some functions of the Finance Council are: prepare the annual parish budget with the guidelines provided by the bishop, review the financial reports, oversee construction projects, offer consultation and assistance in fund-raising actives, and assist the Pastor with information.
If you wish to serve the parish in matters of finance and business administration by offering counsel and service, please call the Church Office.
